Mosley Devant 5/8 wave over Real Earth, no matching device and no Top Hat.

1. model has choke for CMC's and I added a lossy Load to the feed point for the match. providing me resonance near frequency of choice. I did this since the Hair Pin matching devices dimensions are not well defined or easily viewable in artist renderings of the design.

been looking at this antenna..just curious as why ya tested it differently than assembled.?

Good question Hotrod. The Devant images I've found so far are artist renderings and the details for the Hair Pin dimensions are not clear. The Hair Pin wires use curves in their design and curves can also be important. The geometry for curves is complicated, so I use straight wire for convenience. Thus my model of Jay's in the Mojave I-10K uses curves in its Trombone matcher...so my model has errors.

This is my opinion only, but my real I-10K antenna worked much better than my model appears to do. Scroll down the link a bit to their Devant 5/8 wave CB antenna below.

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
