superstar 3900 with a monkeymade mm9
swr are about a 1.3 on 1 and 1.6 on 40
was wanting them lower to run a amp. the whip
doesnt seem to move up/down so i tried moving the
antenna around found a spot towards the rear .also
tried a wilson 5000 with the same results swr was lower towards
the rear.2 questions am i doing something wrong . and does
having the antenna slightly more towards the rear making it
directional.if i posted this elsewere b4 sorry thinking i may have
but couldnt find it

A competition amp on 14 volts can run all day with an SWR of 1.5-1 or less. A stock Texas Star or Palomar need 2-1 or less because since they have 1/2 the output of a similar comp amp. Drill a 3/4" hole in that mini van and get a Wilson 5000 roof mount.
If course moving a magnet mount radically on the roof is going to get slightly different swr results.

yes moving the magnet does seem to change the swr dont know why.. really just wanna
know if having the antenna more towards the rear then in center will hurt/hinder
its performance.the amp will be texas star /palamar type.thanks
