Rock on! I don't run into a lot of bum channel-digit resistors, but that's far and away the cheaper, better fault to fix.
Resistors are usually less likely to fail than LED displays. Just goes to show that the odds aren't always the whole story.

Correct Nomad I know I was most likely not going to find a used/parts radio. These radios are far and few out there. I posted in about 10 FB groups and no response.
