Diawa meter sucks for power readings compared to the Bird 43P. But's OK for what I use it for, which is tuning in antennas and loading up linears.

Here's some closer pics so you can see what this stuff is:

Jeff, I did some messing around tonite, comparing the Diawa meter to the bird43p. If I hook them both up to the Icom 746 pro, and give the radio a steady tone on CW (I have a tuning pulser that sends either a tone or a pulse into the key jack), the Diawa meter was pretty stinkin' close to the Bird 43P. However, if you give the radio a whistle or FOOOUUUURRR into the mic, the Diawa just isn't sensitive enough to read anything close to peak power, but the Bird 43P does just fine. And the difference is significant. I use the cross needle Diawa meter for tuning antennas and loading up the amp, and I always use the tuning pulser in conjunction while doing that. So I guess the meter works just fine if you use it in a configuration where you can give it a tone.

Jeez, don`t know how I missed this one Mole, I now have a PalStar WM150 Active Peak reading cross needle meter, I like it, right before I got it I was looking at the Diawa meters because they have such a large face on the meter...but after reading a few reviews on E-Ham, I went with the PalStar. I do feel that a cross needle meter is the way to go when using a tuner, lets you see what is going on both forward and reflect at the same time.

Thanks.

alot of stuff there. You do need a bigger table.

As of right now all I have is a cb radio in the car. Nothing much,.

have a little radio with all that power (-: what kind or kinds of antenna runs all that stuff ? I notice a lot of you guys leave out pic's of the heart and soul of your stations ? Hardcore Mole dude !! I personally wouldn't know what to do with 99.9% of all that stuff , could only emagine the money tied up in all that, looks good.

There's only 3 amps in that pic and the mobile is being hacked on right now for something special :). The rest is antenna tuner, radios, power supplies, etc.

The antennas are as follows:

-11m - Interceptor 10K at 42' to feedpoint
-80m-10m - Alpha Delta DXCC multiband dipole at 40 feet to feedpoint
-2m - Some kind of comet or diamond (I forgot) 7/8 wave vertical
-440mhz - A little mobile 1/4 wave magmount in the house that I only use as a crossband repeat antenna (gives me about 5 blocks range....perfect)
-Also have a full wave 80m loop laying on the roof, through the trees, on the fence fed by ladder line that I play with from time to time.
