any of you home theater gurus have any suggestions for a replacement speaker?
Its the CHT-12 model....12 8 ohm forward firing 170 rms 400 watts max is the original speaker specs.

If you are replacing the Woofer look into EV (Electro Voice) models

Yes....I would like to replace the speaker.....the original speakers magnet came loose and the voice coil or something is rubbing....I want something that will match up pretty close...a little upgrade would be nice.
I tried Velodyne.....but the closest speaker they had was a down grade performance wise....suks that a company like that does not keep a stock of oem replacement parts.
I have used EV speakers in my guitar amps back in the day.....I did not know they made home stereo speakers?

long as the voice coil was not damaged you could have glued the magnet back on .you just need to glue it so that the voice coil does not rub at all during its travel .
i done that once before .i have also replaced the foam surround on a set of cerwin vega`s ,same deal there .you need make sure the coil does not rub .

i would use a 2 part clear epoxy to glue the magnet, just a thin coat then let it sit on its face for 24 hours.

I do not know how it happened...but the basket was bent so the magnet could not be glued back down so the vc would not rub.....the cone and vc are like new....too bad the basket was bent.

I choose the JBL 12 subwoofer because it was pulled from a damaged JBL PB-12 powered subwoofer and it matched up really well with the sub that was in my Velodyne....its prolly an upgrade....I am gonna sell the Velodyne because I bought a new Polk.....or mebbe I will keep the Velodyne and sell the Polk? ha ha :w00t:

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
