Hi guys, couldn't do the meet yesterday but did today. Have the Turner Mic(s). Turned out to be a guy I knew and used to talk to on the local channels when I lived closer to him in another town. His brother used to own a CB shop of some sort and passed away so the guy inherited some of his personal keepers.
So we have a NOS +3. Unfortunately the box wasn't stored well over the years and is in poor condition but has the Turner Spec Sheet and Warranty Card.
The mic appears absolutely unused and 99.99 Mint. One thing I saw right off was it was missing a foot and it was not in the box. Turner riveted these on and they could come loose. Easily re-attachable with a short screw which I did.
Now the guy brought other items with him heh heh to see if I was interested and I was not, although he had some good stuff. In the pile was a very decent looking +2 Teal Boy with matching cord. This +2 had the exact same feet - and he was a bit mortified with himself that he didn't notice the + 3 was missing one - so he gave me the + 2 to have a foot.
The + 2 is used and has some cosmetic issues but not terrible. It has a couple of places (in pics) where it looks like the paint is stained making the paint lighter in color - and the wind screen on the head is brass painted black - and some of the black paint has come off. That would be an easy restore. + 2 has some typical nicks and light scratches that you see in older mics. For the age I'll rate the +2 an 8 out of 10. It already had a 4 pin plug on it so I was able to test it right off on my 4 pin Cobra style radio and it is wired that way. Loud strong modulation and great audio reports from the locals.
The +3 was unwired and noting the vintage and wanting to make sure it was right in all respects - I wired a new 4 pin plug on it to Cobra. Works perfectly, very loud and strong modulation with same great audio reports from the locals. Heads and stems on both mics are tight with no movement on anything. I'm tempted to keep it for myself but I have many other mics that I am using at the moment. Full picture spread here and feel free to ask any questions.
So the +2 was free to me so it is FREE to you ( missing one foot now). Here's you chance to own an essentially perfect +3. +3 will be wrapped in a layer on bubble wrap and put into it's box. +2 will be wrapped in bubble and both mics put in an oversize heavy box with plenty of bubble and no movement once sealed.
$250 shipped Priority with tracking number and insurance. Will go on Ebay this upcoming Thursday if no one wants here.
