A couple questions for the experts...
My month old (stock) Galaxy DX2547 dropped from the factory 4 watt output on high to 1 watt seemingly overnight for no obvious reason. I am running an IMAX 2000 with a 1:1 swr pretty much accross the band. I was not going to open this radio as long as it was performing Ok due to warranty but went ahead and tried to peak it back up after this and was able to get it up to a max of about 5.5 swinging to around 16. (dropped it back to 4 watt DK) what would cause this to drop out like that for no apparent reason and should I be concerned enough at this point to send it in for service or just run it awhile and see what happens?

I had really planned to do the dual final mod at some point and am not sure if I should now wait to see what may be going on with it as I'm sure the mod will void the warranty anyway.

Thanks for any input

That's a very tough question to answer online. It could be faulty final transistors. It could also be something in the antenna system that the radio is seeing and doesn't like. To verify the latter, put the radio on a dummy load and see what happens.
