SR8T, SR8T, FT-857, FT-817, FT-891, FT-818, some are a few pennies more, but not much. I'd say Alinco and 891 would be best. 718 is long in the tooth and boring now. FT-450 is only chump change over $700 and is a good rig. I wouldn't even consider a 718. Noisy ass rig.

Most of those are not new anymore and are getting long in the tooth.

They are all currently being made, except 817 and possibly the 450. What do you mean? 891, SR9T and 818 are still in production. Out of all I listed, I'd go with the 857D.

The 705 can be powered by the ID51 HT battery. That's interesting. This radio doesn't appeal to me, though.

This is not an entry level rig. It is aimed at the KX3 market and SOTA type operations.
5 watts on internal battery.

I think the price will be about $1100 and after a few months it will drop to $1k.
