well my 980 decided to let the factory smoke out so...I just ordered a 2970n2 from Bells CB. Hope to be back on the air soon and able to actually get out. Currently using an old realistic base that is am only.

Your going to love that 2970N2. That is what I use on my base in the heart of Dixie 
I am hoping to get it to my tech next week. He’s on vacation until next Wednesday
Thumbs up for putting the juice to the Radio Shack base station.
The radio shack base just doesn’t have the receive I crave. It was given to me by a family member and I fire it up now and then but it’s not my favorite.
Question - was your 980 stock or had someone made adjustments? If it was tuned by a shop can you share which one?
I like my 2970n2 but be careful they heat up really fast when you get a case of ratchet jaw <GRIN>
