Base New Vertical base antenna suggestions

sure I would like to hear about them!!
True 5/8 with ring match, Also a high power version, a Starduster wannabe, and mobiles. Big coil base loaded, but built to last with high power handling capability. Available in UHF, NMO and straight mag. UHF 5" mag mount and NMO 5" mag. Also trunk lip NMO and UHF. All high build quality and fairly priced.

I have prototypes of a high power version mobile and a shunt coil matched base antenna (.64) wave. The other antennas are in stock and ready to ship. I need to get the website built. and get these moving.

So just bringing up the Uniden 980 for a minute. You might test with a different watt meter. Those were low powered radios, maybe 10-14 watts peak and even less bone stock. When overturned they would fail.

I know this is an older thread but my vote is for the SERIO antennas , I have right now a monsoon 5/8 vertical and the sy27-4 4 element yagi. The monsoon is one of the best 5/8 wave antennas I have used since getting back into the hobby and for the nay sayers out there who think this antenna isn’t tough well I fell off a ladder taking it down and bent the crap out of it I just straightened it out as best as I could and put it back up and retuned it even with a slight bend at the base I have an SWR of 1.07 my ohms at 49.8 and the X is -3 . I have talked skip all over the world on 50w . My yagi is nice and light has held up to + 60 mph dust storms , crows and ravens and is still banging out the goods with an swr of 1.08 and the ohms are just a RCH under 50 ( for those who don’t know RCH is an abbreviation for Red C*nt hair ) .
If my monsoon ever gives up the ghost I will replace it with the new blizzard 2700 as I want to try that model out .

A colossal 10k is too much money for not a lot of gain in my opinion. The MaCo antennas are pretty good for something beefy and I have folks who swear by the vquad .

If my advice is worth anything to you then here it is invest in some really good coax if your running 11m then go with the rule of 3 when measuring your coax That is 3 feet so if you need 75’ of LMR 400UF ( what I use ) then just get 81 ‘ I’ve also had good luck with RG213 uf and by all means get good connectors like Messi and paoloni or something similar but not cheap Chinese knockoffs. You will thank me later .

My homemade delta loop way outperforms ALL my commercially made verticals on DX and it cost almost nothing to make. Way more fun building your own antennas!
You are correct there, I love my 572' loop, its fed with 600 ohm ladder line, tunes 160-6 meter with just the radio tuner. This thing is a monster on 10-15 meter, horizontal of coarse. I have many acres littered with wire in the air, LOL, no HOA out here in the TX Bayou. Thinking about making a ground mounted vertical here in the spring maybe, not sure if I want to make it for 160 meter or maybe a multi band 40-10 or something like that. I have made plenty of inverted Vee's and dipoles multi banded but never a ground mounted vertical. I even though maybe a delta loop like your for vertical work as its way easier then a ground mounted vertical.
