New Yaesu FT 450D with Auto tuner. Question

Do I need to have AUTO TUNER NO or OFF when using an amp After the FT450D?

off,, but you need a tuner after the amp unless your transmitting into a resonant antenna on the band your using

If your amp has a tuned input and is set correctly on each band
(less than 1.5/1 vswr between radio and amplifier) with amplifier ON
Then there is no need to engage the tuner...leave it OFF

In put is/will be tuned, and my talk zone is at worst 1.2 swr with X=0, R=58.
Thanks for the help. I may have to get a tunner then that can take a dx500 so I can play with wire antennas this winter.
