Hi, new to the forum and to radios. Well, had a CB as a kid back in the 70s, and walkie-takies, and I do have a marine VHF for my boat, but I recently got a Tecsun PL 660 compact shortwave receiver, and have questions about those spooled wire antennas. I bought a Sangean 23' reel antenna ($10) because I didn't know the Tecsun came with a wire spool antenna of its own. So now I have 2. I guess I could use 1 with my crappy Eton FR200 emergency unit, but, here's my real question:
Can I use 2 of them together with the Tecsun by plugging 1 into the antenna jack and clipping the other one to the telescoping antenna, and running them out in opposite directions? Or would that just cause a lot of interference or do something bad? Also, I know the reel antennas are good for the SW bands, but do they also help with other bands (AM, FM? VHF?!), or strictly SW?
Thanks very much in advance for helping this clueless-but-now-researching newb.
