So it just arrived. I wanted to hook it up using the Maxrad nmo mount but realized that it comes with a pl259 end. The input to the scanner uses a common ford am/fm antenna plug. Can I crimp or screw on plug? Secondly the antenna is all black including the whip. My cb antenna has a steal whip. Can I take the paint off to match? If so what's the easiest way. The scanner antenna has those little curls near the bottom so its going to be tough when any normal sanding technigue
