Any of the mod's for the other DX line of radio's can be done to it for the most part.

Yes snooping around in here I see a Viagra board can be added to it. So it has possibilities for someone else of coarse because after buying my last 2 Q6 Pros I'm feeling rather Poor. LOL
I was just thinking the channel board for Galaxy's all use radio's with 145106 PLL's I think and the 979 uses an RCI8719. I should of thought of that before ordering. Ooops. Well this just means I need another Galaxy now! LOL I am not going to build a bread board with socket to break out and adapt 145106PLL to RCI8716. LOL That juice is not worth the squeeze for a 1 of! LOL Thankfuly I am only out $35. LOL
I pulled the trigger on my RF Parts cart after scalling it down from $900+ down to $150. Som restraint is in order.
Now I need to address Mouser and Digi-Key although some of those parts are for high end audio repairs to vintage home audio 1970's through 1990. I have a reel to reel that I need to recap and align and not going to lie I am looking forward to that about as much as I am knee replacement!

My Mouser cart is empty it appears their is a limit to how long you can keep a cart full of parts. Not only that but 90% of my past orders have dropped off as well. It had been a few years but had no idea they just dropped them off like that.
I think I will recap it. Maybe do the Gold Finger audio TX/RX substitutions, if it does not already have a 2SC1973 I will change that. I will upgrade regulators. I will upgrade the regulators with Mitsubishi, Toshiba and ST Micro componets. I will either do CP-1 and SP1-a install or convert to electret condenser and SP1-a.
I think I will hold off on doing DDS-VFO mod to it. Will definitely unlock clarifier.
