The Kenwood TH-F5 & Kenwood TH-K4AT real?

comparison.jpg

The TH K4AT is the UHF version of the TH K2 2 meter handheld and is almost identical in appearance....Only the colour of the print on the buttons and the colour of the power switch differ.

The TH F5 is also a UHF version of an identical 2 meter set.

So, both 'real' but the F5 is made in China by Xiamen Comms Central Co., Ltd....As to whether it is a genuine K/W is debatable, as it does have that 'lack of detail' look about it that Chinese radios can suffer from....and the the rotary control knob on the top certainly looks a lot more Chinese than Japanese!

You're welcome!...

I have a TH K2 and it's an excellent handie.....A little short on bells and whistles when compared to some models, but it doesn't suffer from breakthrough, it's well made and sturdy, great battery life and does its job well.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
