was "told" it does just shy of 50w am/fm/ssb
draw according to p.s.
8A on FM
4A on AM
2A on ssb
-mic gain and power 100% on all modes.
-regular contacts made on usb with signal reports of 5x5 to 5x7
-swr under 1.5:1 where i transmit
question is, if it was able to do close to 50w on ssb, wouldn't the p.s. be showing higher draw than 2A?

voice can only get 2A, i set the roger beep tone to 10.00, and max time for the r.b. saw the 4A draw. i would have thought voice could have made the same. on the other hand, i do not whistle or yell at my microphone. thank you for solving this curiosity that had been festering a few of us. regardless if it is only doing 20w with voice or not, i refuse to run an amplifier. I'd rather be patient for conditions. take care out there
