Realistic TRM-12 VHF-FM Marine Radio Telephone Type No. 20-201

I need the owner's manual to the TRM-12 so that I can set it up and listen to the Marine Band.

Yes, I recognize the oxymoronic nature of attempting to run old equipment that serves such a vital function as weather safety and nautical emergencies. However, I'm just entering boating and running the inland rivers and streams of the Pacific Northwest. I managed to pick up a Realistic TRM-12 at a garage sale cheap. Having just completed the Coast Guard Auxilary Boating Safety Course I know just enough about the Marine Radio band to get into trouble. What I'd like to do is get the manual, set the unit up, and listen to get experience. When I purchase a modern unit, I'll have some idea of how to behave before I key the mic.

If anyone has the manual I'd appreciate a copy or perhaps a .pdf of the thing.

Thanks !!

My first suggestion would be to contact Radio Shack directly and find out what they might be able to offer.

Secondly, Google can sometimes be your friend. I found this link:

A. G. Tannenbaum's Catalog - R MANUALS

which may or may not be good. When the page comes up, don't click on any of the brand names - just scroll down to RADIO SHACK. Don't scroll all the way down to Realistic. You'll wear out your mouse, get a tired finger, and then you see "REALISTIC - SEE RADIO SHACK". I know I did!

It seems to list a Service Manual for $20. This may or may not help.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
