Thinking about digging out my old ar3500 , the original relay in the amp section went intermittent and I stuck a rat shack in to replace it but it never worked that well forgot the original number on side of relay.

Bob's CB Shop in PA has parts for these radios.
But any relay having the same electrical requirements should work. I would check the keying transistor and the traces and solder joints - since you said there is intermittent function present.
