Why are you changing the fan? Did I miss something?

It was not properly boxed for mailing, and the weight of the unit crushed the fan. I contacted the seller, they said to ship it back for a refund. Nah, I'll fix it.

Put in the same way the factory did. I'm sure they did a thermal study on which way would work best.

Well we are talking about cb amplifiers here. Many of them still put the heatsink on the bottom.

Well, the fan is on the p/s, but yes, I never understood the upside down heat sink. I guess maybe if you mount it under a dash or cabinet it would work on the bottom better, but I'm working on installing fans, as the Shooting Star gets pretty warm with a few minutes of conversation. The TX250 didn't get as warm, but warm. Maybe I need to dig out my IR thermometer and take a couple readings.
