Predator I 10K Puck Mount

i was told not to use a spring under a 10k .
http://www.worldwidedx.com/predator...pring-under-10k-monkey-made-type-antenna.html

does it flop around or have any issues 15 ?

You can use a Pot Belly spring like is used with the 102" Whips, on the short shafts like a 6,9, or 12" shaft, and it will work just fine with the Single Coil 10K's...But don't use a spring on longer shafts like the 17,22, and 27" because it will flop around from wind drag off the coil...

Also I would not use a spring on the Dual Coil 10K's either, for the same reason...Too much wind drag, even with the short shafts.

I talked to Cale a few years back about what he thought on what would be best for my GEO ? but I can't find the thread anymore. I have wrote him 2 times to his email addy and no reply ? (IM guessing maybe because of the Holidays ?)
I talked to Kale a couple of weeks ago, and he was having computer problems, and has not been able to get on-line...So this is probably why he hasen't returned your emails...

He said if anyone needs to contact him to call him at one of these numbers:
817-790-6239
817-319-9080 (cell)

He was also having problems with his main number too at the time, but it should be fixed by now...

JJD ive got a 6 inch dual coil that i just use the larger coil on so its a 6 inch single coil . so youve changed your opinion and are now saying i could put a big pot belly spring on it and not have to worry about it flopping around when driving on the highway and typical starting and stoping ?

performance

You might be hard pressed to beat the performance of what you have. For the minimal gain you might see, your roof will take a lot more abuse. If it was me, I would stick with what you have.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
