I just got a first gen Madison recently and making it mine. I've already swapped out some bulbs for LEDs. Just replaced gears in the clock to get it going again.

Next up freq counter. I just bought this.

Now I'm looking for info on how and where to connect each wire. I know about the 7.8 offset which the one I ordered can do.

My findings so far:
Connect counter to GATE 1 of FET 4 with a 39pF in line Will this work? Higher pF, 47pF? Or is it R106?

Of course offset counter
Wear a grounding bracelet?

Info I need:
Is my research correct so far?
Where to connect the other 3 wires? The counter has 4 wires. 2 for power and 2 for reading freq. Where do I connect the other wire to read freq (I assume this is ground?). Where do I connect the power wires for 12v power and ground?
Any resistors on the power side?

Video of my setup so far

I snagged this out of another thread... I'm thinking this might be a cobra 858 chassis

Gorgeous radio! Be really nice to see it all when you're done with the frequency counter install.

It is easy to install a freq counter on an 858 chassis, but the problem is getting it to track the clarifier in receive. Tough to do w/o a freq counter that has the proper splits between AM and SSB. I do not know of any aftermarket counter that will do this. Maybe some other members do. Good Luck.
