I have a new McKinley AM/SSB radio (not the McKinley II with FM) and was able to open it up and turn the modulation up. Sounds excellent to all my locals with frequent tests on my mobile. I cannot remember what pot it was but found the video on youtube somewhere. I turned the pot clockwise to raise it, but you must at least must have a meter that reads modulation or better yet real test equipment. If you turn the pot too far it will literally drop to zero and lose all modulation.
The AM SSB FM radio appears to be the Am SSB radio with the FM board added on.
I got the Thonas on a trade and have been messing with the settings. It's a neat little rig and I'm getting a mckinley from the same person.
