Connect pin #20 to pin #21 GROUND.
Solder a wire from pin #9 to one side of a SPST switch.
Solder a wire from PCB GROUND to the other side of the switch.
If all goes well this should give you 27.420 - 27.860 Mhz.
Yes, i know 27.420 in between the channel SO use the clarifier for the 5 kc offset.
If you can't get all the frequency coverage then adjust L-14 the VCO coil....you can also use a Expo or Galaxy type kit for more channels ...if you were to do this mod it always seems to help to let the mod take for a few minutes or so before you start to adjust the VCO.
after making all of the necessary circuit changes, power the radio up and let it stabilize for 30 - 45 minutes before making final vco adjustments and/or netting the crystal mixer frequencies as in the case of the channel kit.
