Good Day Everyone,
I picked up a Pride 150 in great condition (inside pic attached). I tried it out on air and a local op siad it sounds great on AM but bad on SSB. His comment was that it sounds like it's not biased correctly. There are 2 varicaps on the inside and I am wondering if it may be out of adjustment. The pic attached shows them. Any thoughts on adjusting them and what I am using to measure the adjustment such as my watt meter, scope etc.?

Thanks as always!!!

The two varicaps are for input and tuning.
Unfortunately that amp has no bias, you can see the input transformer is grounded through a choke.
Class c.
AM ok, SSB not so much that's why it sounds crunchy.
