I've got a nice Pro 43 HH scanner ( I know, analog...) but I live in an area that has few trunking or digital APCO systems. My Pro 43 been showing it's age lately. Has anyone experienced failing CAPS in their older 43's? Specifically, my squelch has been opening up and giving me static where a signal should NOT be. Also, when operating, the segments of the LCD shows varying levels of each digit of the LCD, like there's less voltage to drive the display? At one point, all I was getting static and adjusting the squelch didn't do anything, remaining open on a channel where there's no RX??? I like my 43, but not if it's going to throw false carriers.
