Anyone have one of these? Thinking of trying one with a 102" steel whip. I've had several of the Tri-mag mounts. They had varying degrees of magnetism. I remember one that possibly could have been strong enough. Not finding much online about it. For some reason, the looks of these magnets seem good.

Not the quad one but I have used a tri-magnet before with a screwdriver antenna.
The Tri-mag mounts I had in the past just held NMO style antennas. I've had three over the years. I remember one of them had cheap magnetic and barely held. I hit a low branch with a Larsen NM0-27. The whole assembly came off. It also rusted up. This one looks decent, but all that shiny chrome might pit and rust. I just ordered it earlier, so we'll find out.

The tri-mag held well enough but I eventually switched to a Breed love ball mount.

I have a Breedlove UHF ball mount for my ATAS. I want to install it on the rear panel of my truck bed. I got the truck as high as my jack stands allow. I couldn't reach my arms up in the space available. I need to get it higher or find a lift before I drill the holes.

Finally received my quad magnet today. It was lost in shipment for a spell. The stud and coax assembly is somewhat decent. It's pretty strong. Got my Firestick on it now. It's not much shorter than a steel whip. Bandwidth is wide. 10-11 meters is easily workable. Not sure if I should put a spring on it or not. I just drive the car locally and not very often. I'll put the steel whip on it tomorrow. I just don't like getting pointed at when driving around, lol.

I have a triple magnet one and I have a hard time removing It. I don’t imagine with a 4 magnet one. I have to use a a lumber to pry it off the roof of my SUV.

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
