Well I'll start it off with a PTT switch I made. After looking around and not finding a PTT switch I really liked,I didn't want a foot switch and didn't like the hand held idea either. I made my own. I took a old computer mouse and gutted it,I glued the mouse buttons down and drilled a hole in the center of the right mouse button and installed a small push button switch in the hole. I drilled the right button because I use it left handed and it felt more comfortable to me. It also allowed me to keep my right hand available to write down the contacts, doodle etc. I used the 5 wire cord for the mouse and doubled up the wires and soldered them to the push button switch, cut the plug off the other end and soldered a RCA plug to fit my Yaesu. I didn't like the way the mouse "felt" being so light so I drilled some holes in a 2X4 for a mold and melted some old lead wheel weights down and poured the melted lead in the holes I drilled and made some "slugs". I put one of the slugs in the hole where the mouse ball was and put the cap back on. I made some shorter slugs and glued them inside the gutted mouse. Now it dosent scoot unless I want it to For less than $5 (for switch and RCA plug) I'm happy. Oh and if you happen to go to the Rat Shack in Bastrop Tx and see all the packages for the push button switches "smushed"you now know what happened. Hey...I had to try them out and get just the right one!
