Note: For an external antenna connection in this case, I usually use a female SMA to female BNC adapter. Far more products support the old BNC standard, hence it will allow you more options.

Believe its an SMA connector.

It's a female SMA, which is common on the Chinese and Motorola radios. Most of the Japanese HT's use Male SMA antennas.

Had to check mine. The two Baofeng radio’s I have are just like that. My Yeasu FT-70d is just the opposite.
