Radio Shack HTX 100

Pros and cons on this radio. Can they be converted to 11 meters? If so should it be done by a tech or can a "ham-handed operator" do it? Inquiring minds want to know!

From my understanding, the HTX 100 is a SSB radio that comes only with USB...no LSB.

Adding LSB mode is one of the mods.



Otherwise, I think it is basically a Uniden HR-2510, so if you want a 2510/ lincoln, it might be easier to pick up one of them.

But, the HTX 100 might be cheaper.

and the conversion is well documented.
