i am running the 2980wx now and they are a sweet radio. i have never once had a complaint on the ssb quality of thuis radio and that is about the only mode i use for communication. receive on them is excellent and has really good frequency stability. i would reccomend this radio any day of the week. but the only thing that i do have about the 2980 is the filtering system for ssb. the anl/nb does not seem to wok very well on ssb at all other than that they are top shelf!

yes it changes when turned,pretty good radios , after a year and a half i sent mine in for 4 different minor problems came back all working but now mudducking they pickeder back up and bump it up a little for me now its working like new again, id say go for it buy 1 10-4

i dont see a clarifier on that radio what is fr. pool and fine course???
im guessing fine coarse is the clarifier but dont know what a Fr. Pool is.

i got my radio today. seems real sweet. i got a couple of questions though. do you guys have any luck with the weather band on it? not sure if mine isn't working or just not recieving a signal. when i turn it to weather mode the display goes blank? it says it will scan the weather band automaticly but dosn't seem to do anything? also the green red tx/rx light blinks on recieve but stays on in tx. any opinions welcome.

i got it working .there is a weather antenna nearby. i'm not sure what i did i hooked up my scanner antenna to it and it pickup the weather stastions then went back to the cb antenna and now it works? i live up very high and on my scanner can pick up 4 different weather transmiters so i thought the local one at least should come in.
