Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

I just saw a video about the RCI 2995 DX HP.
The only difference is on the amp board.Same amp board, but uses RT5's.
250W out of the box.

Just like the 2970n2 or x9hp, they use the same amp boards but use rt5 or in the bigger ones the rt6.

Still a mystery what the rt5 and rt6 are...

so the FQP13N10 can sub the rt1?
thanks for the quick reply got the solder iron ready
Yes sir. I've personally never used the 13n10 but the bias should be similar to the others. If you're working on the x9 it's a little tricky because there's no mirror board to pull. I think @Shadetree Mechanic uses the ammeter reading to figure out the ma draw. On the x9 I worked on I went the unorthodox way and did the voltage route with new rt1's at around 3.6 volts. I'll probably get roasted for telling that :ROFLMAO:

It sounds real crunchy unless I go about 4 volts.
This readio sounded (x9hp) like shit yesterday but we didnt put the antenna connector on last night it was loose and it fried the final. I had the 13n10 in stock so I matched up 3 13n10's .3.5v 726pf , 727pf 726pf and put them in. I'm having to crank the bias way up to max to get it to sound clear.
I dont like these new radios at all

Hey now.. Got an email took me back to this old thread. Just reread the whole thread over again. RT1 thread that sorta meandered all over the place. I was happy to have participated in it, esp without being laughed out of it due to my being so much less knowledgeable than most if not all of you. I want to thank all the responders and contributors as I learned considerably from all the input. I thought it was one of the best threads ever here! The level of respect shown considering the different knowledge levels, was/is very helpful, rewarding and makes for an enjoyable read. Doing my best to promote keeping cb alive but it's slipping away..

The latest radios with SWR protection/monitoring usually set at 2.0 SWR will shut off when they are keyed. Friend of mine had a Fatboy 1x6 with staged driver that was shutting a Lincoln 2+ V3 off as soon as it was keyed. He said the amp worked fine with a Galaxy Saturn.

Anyway, I called my tech friend, and he made a custom jumper that goes between radio and amp input. All the tech had was LMR 400 at the time, so I had him make it, and it ended up being around 15 feet long. Can't remember the exact measurement. He was using a formula with velocity factor and whatever else. Anyway, jumper worked great, and the radio SWR monitoring was showing round about what I measured with an antenna analyzer. No more radio killing power to finals.
14.7 FT most of the time

Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.

@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
