I have a rci 69 base and my signal meter is EXTREMELY tight. Almost nobody gets me over 7db and the strongest stations under the best conditions might hit 9.
Anybody know how to adjust the meter?

Not the exact radio but very similar so it should get you in the neighborhood.

You really need the proper equipment to set that meter correctly though.

Simple adjustment should take care of the issue, but occasionally you will run into drivers with the actual meter drive circuit (failed diode or capacitor, out-of-spec part value, etc). You can often give the meter a bit more room for upwards movement by using a bit larger filter cap in the meter drive voltage path. This holds the voltage high for just a bit longer, allowing the meter to move higher before the drive voltage drops.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
