I'm a newbie to this forum and have a question about the Ranger TR696F SSB base radio. I have never owned one but a friend of mine is interested in getting one. We are wondering how touchy the clarifier is on this unit considering its just a course clarifier? He had a cheap radio once and the clarifier was terrible. It was so touchy you couldn't tune people in perfectly. We could get close enough to understand the calling party but could never get rid of the mickey mouse or devil sound. If anyone here has owned one I would appreciate the info. Thanks in advance for the info.
