RCI 2970 gone goofy.

Picked up an rci 2970 and when I got got home and turned it on its gone crazy.It scans and I cant stop it,I shows weird numbers.Maybe it needs to be reset?If you key it up it wont stop scanning.Before I take it in to have it checked,any idea whats going on?It was given to me.

maybe one of the buttons are locked on scan/up/dwn if this is the case you will have to replace the button board for normal operations
