Does anyone have one of these and if so does it drift all over the place? I'm trying to get a friends radio to stop the drifting, I changed the Voltage Regulator to a S817 and replaced the crystal with a new one from International Crystal and this bugger still drifts until it's on over 2 hours. Any ideas or has anyone found a fix for it? Thank in advance for your time

Is the room in which it is being used kept at a constant temp?

They are very sensetive to any change in temps.

Other than that, there isn't much you can do to keep a Galaxy from drifting - that I know of.

I've tried many things to get them stable.

You have to change out the varicap diodes to different ones and remove the range limiting caps across each diode. There are 2 diodes, one in the VCO circuit, the other one is in the clarifier circuit. This helps reduce the drift a fair bit. You'll never get rid of all the drift, though.

~Cheers~
