RCI 69 Base - AM RX Frequency is ~ 7 KCs Down?

Hello everyone. One of these radios came across the bench the other day with this odd issue: AM receive is about 7 KCs down from transmit. I checked the synthesizer alignment (with Clarifier centered at 12 O'clock), and every adjustment was spot on. AM transmit frequency is correct. SSB transmit and receive are also correct. Only the AM receive appears to be off frequency during normal operation.

The user complained of having to turn the clarifier down to hear weaker signals, then re-centering it when transmitting. I can confirm this behavior.

Any thoughts on what may cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all for your great site!
