RCI Ranger 2950 Non DX Help Please

I have a friend that just picked up an old school RCI2950 Non DX. The Radio works Great. One problem is that when he goes to ssb mode the liquid lights to give radio checks does not register. The receive on the Radio is great. Just only in ssb mode will it not read. AM and Fm No Prob. Any Ideas to help my buddy would be great. Thanks Guys...:confused1:
 

Found the Problem. Thanks Guys. It was VR2. It was turned all the way Down. We are back in Business....................:thumbup1:

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
