Since I run all portable radios there is a concern about overloading the front end of this type of radio when used for SWL when antenna accessories are used. My research has turned up a wealth of info that newbies ,as well as returning SWL'ers, to help them all understand what will help and what will harm the radios they use to enjoy their SWL hobby.
These Tech Notes are all written by the electrical engineer Joe Carr in plain simple easy to understand English so they will be easy to apply. All are in PDF so I recommend downloading and file for future use.
There is also a book on RECEIVING ANTENNA'S that is very useful to all for building your own antennas that will work for SWL. It's well worth the investment to avoid wasting money on wasteful non-working antenna for SWL.
