hi about a month ago i purchased a radio shack ...realistic desk microphone off eBay .......its a 4 pin connector on it the item # for it is 21-1170.....i was wanting to get the owners manual or instruction sheet for this mic ....ive looked all over the internet to no avail........i did find the part number by looking up old radio shack catalogs .......the last catalog this mic was in was 1976........it looks like the old turner plus 2 mike but im not sure if its the same wiring ....i hooked it up to my cobra 19dx and it didn't work ....i didn't key it up ....but when hooked up no sound came out of the speaker on the radio.......im hoping someone will have this manual or schematic diagram so i can wire this up to any radio i chose ........also i will help me to know which way to put the switch on the bottom for relay or electronic switching ........thanks in advance for all reply's ..........Eric.......

Here it is in July of 2022 and I have searched without luck on this 21-1170 for a schematic. I have looked inside and I only see a switch on the bottom. If this has transistors then they must be inside the head. I could not get the head off. appeared to be glued in. pdrunen@aol.com
 
Just did what the OP did, went back and looked at old RS catalogs. There was a mobile mic with a two transistor amplifier, the catalog number was 21-1171. Might not be the same board as the 21-1170, but it's no worse than what you have now:


The switch on the bottom may be to switch between electronic and relay keying. The mic is about the right age for that to have been a thing. Of course, I've never seen on in the real world, so I could be wrong. Probably am.

These were made with many names applied to them. The amp is indeed in the head. I scrapped a couple of them last year that had too many cosmetic issues to be worth trying to make a frankenmic.
