Found the realistic navaho TRC 431 I looked for 30 years ago ( literally the same one) . My problem is I get no power through the AC or DC connection. I'm thinking its the transformer but there is no real information on the transformer except a stamp on top which leads me no place when I try to look it up. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding... you say that you get no AC or DC through to power the unit. In the lower left hand corner... that little 3 pin plug is the DC power. If you follow J6 pin 3 it goes up through L702 to the SPDT switch S6.
As the note says... that switch is toggled by plugging in the AC power cord. (I believe it is part of the jack that the AC cord plugs into).
What I am getting at is.... a bad AC transformer would not keep the DC power in from working..... but that switch....S6.... could keep them BOTH from working.
If you have a DMM and can find that switch.... you may be able to figure out where it is being lost. Esssentially ... that switch just decides whether the AC power supply or the DC coming in powers the radio.
I think I would hook up a DC supply and troubleshoot it from that direction.... figure out why the DC is not getting through........and it is possible that you will "run into" the reason that neither works. The AC supply may be working...but the switch may be broken.

Hope this gives you some help!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
