Realistic ssb radio what is the best one made?

My vote would be the TRC 457 and then a TRC-458. The TRC-449 is missing L6. With the original NEC 2SC1307 final. Do the Unit_399 mods, especially the receive FET and Tantalum changes. My best performing CB base is my modded TRC-457 with a DigiScan 400 sitting on top.

I thin the Realistic TRC 453 was a pretty good radio, not a whole lot could be done with them but they were a great sideband radio, it needed some sort of amplified mic to help with the modulation but all in it was a pretty good radio

My favorite hands down, is the TRC 450. Same as the Cobra 140. Receive on this radio rivals some great HF rigs.

Uniden built many boards for Tandy Corp.. Although not the same part numbers, the boards were pretty much identical
