Receiver kit recommendations...

I am thinking about having a go at building a receiver as I like having a go at making things and being able to listen in on a receiver that I made (hopefully successfully) would add to the experience. I guess making something with a reasonably wide coverage would make sense. I did a bit of a web search and came across TenTec and they seem to get mixed reviews. I also have heard alot about Heath Kit, who everyone seems to rave about, but their status looks to be in limbo according to their website. Are there any other kit makers out there that people have experience with, either good or bad?

Any recomendations would be gratefully received.

Check these guys out. I have the low band receiver, and just got a 6, 4, or 2 meter kit, that i have not put together yet. You need a good set of eyes, those surface mount components are SMALL. And a good soldering station with pin point tips.
