Restored Vintage Classics versus Galaxy

put another 200 or so into it and you've got a real winner.

That was going to be my next question. How much?
If no major repairs are needed, will $200 or so usually cover the necessary improvements such as recapping and the such?

IMHO, Yes it will cost less than $200. Probably closer to $100 (more or less) for a full re-cap and re-alignment. (but i'm not sure)
I much prefer a classic radio over the modern ones, they just don't build 'em like they used to, anymore..

That's great news! I thought it'd be a lot more.
Once I acquire the radio I want, the hard part begins. Finding a competent, trustworthy tech who doesn't have a long waiting list and can get right to it. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, the good ones stay busy, you may find someone "on the ground" (not online) who does not accept mail-ins, they would probably have a smaller work load, & shorter line of customers. (faster turn-around time)

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
