We all know gone are the days of walking into a SEARS store with a boxes of rusted tools you bought in a garage sale and asking the clerk of new ones. The old man at the counter and would look at the box and say, " looks like you got a early 1960's 3/8 drive socket handle- it's rusted up pretty good. " "They don't make them like this anymore." "I will get you a new one, I will get the new screwdriver too." I just checked at the local family run ACE Hardware in McMurray, PA. The hardware guy said if they sell the tool they will replace any Craftsman hand tool on site. Has anyone got a Craftsman tool replaced recently?

It's been a few years, but we used to get Craftsman tools warrentied at ACE, drop the tool off, they would make a claim and in a couple days a replacement would ship to the store.
A couple were not exact replacement tools because they no longer make some older styles but they were a 'equivalent' tool.
I don't know if they still do it anymore, like I said it's been awhile.
Give them a call

Try starting a new thread in the Amplifier section and asking the question, more people will see it to respond.
