Hello Guys,

Thought I would share what I measured...
I made an RF Choke (wound around 10cm PVC tube so the diameter is 11 cm hart to hart) its airwound... and not touching anything.
The Coax used was RG213UBX.

RF Choke 5 turns..png

With 5 turns the transmission loss around 27 MHz was just over 20 dB and "peak" frequency lies about 10 MHz higher.
It works, 20dB transmission loss is what most consider to be "just good enough"

5 turns RG213 Roughly 11cm diameter (wound around 10cm PVC).png

But with 4 turns we can achieve better results:
4 turns RG213.png

Over 30 dB from 26-28 MHz with peaks of 35 dB.

For those who cant measure an RF Choke with an VNA :
You might keep 4 turns 11cm diameter as a good reference point.

Hope it is of use,

Kind regards,

Henry
