RG8 connector for LMR240?

Will RG8 connector work on LMR240 coax?

You need a reducer ferrule for it.

I sand or file the nickel plate from that reducer and tin it with solder and fold the coax shield back over it and solder it then screw the reducer into the pl-259 and then solder the center in the tip.

Use the UG-176 reducer with the PL-259 for LMR-240 and all other coax of this same size (0.240" OD). Use the UG-175 for RG-58.

thanks, now where do I find the UG-176 reducer, not ratshack. GRrrr, kinda defeats the purpose unless RG-8 PL259's are cheaper than the special connectors for LMR240, I guess they make a special PL259 like they do with the N-connectors at work. wonder how JB weld would work?
