To defeat that switch which has multiple input tuning circuits would require doing just that, by chosing one of it's tuning circuit which would be the one for highest output for obvious reasons.
Laziness perhaps as it's a bother to turn the switch and I solved that problem on a palomar amp by just switching it to the high position and not turning it again.
The problem was that I Kl, damaged the key, along with trillha where the plaque is the key, I would make a jumper and leave it at full power since the use of a mobile device that comes with 5 watts.
Might be the easiest route to place a jumper across the switch for high output operation.
The amp has 6 output positions then you would have to find which circuit controls the highest output.

Not being totally sure the switch you're referring to may have internal devices that are actually part of the input tuning network.
