I just obtained a 240D and it TX fine but no RX. I found the problem to be with the CB/PA switch. Does anyone have a switch or can tell me how to bypass the switch? EVEREADY

Wow, that must be a big switch lol. Looking at the schematic, it appears to be at least a 6-pole dual throw switch. Unless someone familiar with that radio comes along, you may have to post a picture of the switch and maybe trace a couple wires to figure out what switch pins need to be tied together.

Could I make a different suggestion? Shoot a little of this up its back end and work the switch in and out a few times.

Edit: i have heard good things about deoxit too, which may work better here.

I’ve sprayed the switch with Deoxit but with little luck. Getting an intermittent receive but very unstable. Yes it is 6 pole double throw with dual stage. ( Bottom switch)

I think, given the direction the switch moves, that the switches are laid out like this:

and if the switch being out is CB, you would likely have to connect these:

Maybe you could double check and see if those seem to try to make contact in CB mode before doing this.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
