I have a friend that has one. It keeps dropping out on xmit. He has replaced both voltage regulators in the power supply, both 2290's, the driver and the final in the radio, but it still keeps dropping out. Any ideas? This radio is 10 yrs old. Thanks.

I have seen people take out the power supply and run a Astron up to it! These radios are Famous for going out in the transformer section!

Thank ya for the reply 211. Did those radios have the same problem? Did bypassing the power supply w/ the Astron fix the problem? Hope ya have a great day and God bless.

Well, it makes it run more stable! When you peak one of those radios, it is drawing more from it then it was intended to and that makes them week quick!!! So but puttin a bigger pwoer supply on it, makes it run better and you also get more out of it!! That can be a problem, and also, it could be the tech!!!!!!
