Ok maybe this is the place to post...

I have a Texas Ranger TR-696 SSB base station I need to set for optimum use with a linear...

Question is- It has 2 Pots one for low power and one for high power AM ... WHY?? This is only a 4 watt radio to begin with.

Which one do I need to adjust too begin with? I want to achieve a 2 Watt Dead Key... My understanding is that I adjust the Modulation Pot to achieve a swing of no more than 12 Watts.

If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks and have a nice day! 8)

No replies but that's ok... I tore into my radio and have got it set-up pretty well... I hope!

Dead Key at 2 Watts
Swing at 10-12 Watts
SSB PEP'ing about 15 Watts =/-

Now were just waiting on the Big Box from FED-EX!!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
